How to Beat “The Donald” In a Debate
He’s weak, he’s a loser, he’s a coward, he’s a liar
I’m old enough to remember the OJ Simpson trial. Simpson’s team of lawyers had F. Lee Bailey and Johnnie Cochran among other famous names. They didn’t have facts on their side, but they had a strategy that proved to be effective and basic.
“If the glove doesn’t fit, you must acquit.”
I remember that statement being repeated over and over and over. This is how the American brain works. You give them a basic, stupid jingle and you beat them over the head with it.
This is what Biden needs to do.
You don’t waste your time trying to explain facts. You don’t waste your time with a bunch of hard to remember statistics. You don’t try for nuance and accuracy.
Just come up with your slogan and repeat it over and over for 90 minutes.
Like everyone else, I was disappointed by Biden’s debate performance. However, I think I was disappointed for other reasons than the rest of America.
What I saw when “The Donald” took the stage was a tired and beaten man. I think, deep down, he knows that America is getting fed up with his shtick. At this point, we all know what the Donald is going to do. He’s going to scrunch up his face and lie and lie and lie and blame and blame and blame.
That’s it. There will be no solutions. There will be no accountability.
You can’t get him to NOT do that, but you can provoke him to the point where even radicalized Americans look at each other and say, “Um, no.”
There were a couple times during the debate where Biden got under the Donald’s skin. When he mentioned he was a convicted felon, when he mentioned he abandoned his wife to have sex with a porn star.
What you need is to get the Donald on the ropes denying things. That looks weak. The only thing the Donald has is this absurd facsimile of strength. He’s not strong. In fact he’s weak, he’s a loser, he’s a coward, he’s a liar.
All Joe Biden’s debate team has to do is instead of saying “Number one...” he needs to start EVERY SINGLE RESPONSE with, “I’d like to remind my audience that my opponent is weak, he’s a loser, he’s a coward and he’s a liar.”
I’m so irritated that Biden’s prep team hasn’t figured this out yet.
You don’t debate Donald Trump like he’s a statesman. You debate him like he’s a stand up comedian. It’s not about discussing your policies, it’s about making him look weak. That’s actually really easy to do because he’s perhaps the most thin-skinned, sorry-excuse for a person on the face of the Earth.
Call up Jon Stewart, Stephen Cobert, or Trevor Noah for debate prep.
I believe that Biden is perfectly capable of handling his duties as president. But a debate isn’t a presidential duty. A debate is a bunch of stupid performance theater. It shouldn’t be taken so seriously. In a debate, you must give the American people what they want.
THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT TO SEE THE DONALD SQUIRM!
I expect that Biden’s handlers don’t know what it’s like to be a working class person, but I do. The way to erode the support for Trump that’s out there is to connect him to those awful bosses that we’ve all had.
“My opponent is weak, he’s a loser, he’s a coward, he’s a liar. He’s the disappointing child of a rich man who has been given everything on a silver platter, and finds he still isn’t satisfied. So, he has to take it out on the rest of us.”
People who have actually worked for a living have met people like that. We dislike them. It’s easy to paint the Donald as such a person because that’s what he is!
“My opponent is weak, he’s a loser, he’s a coward, he’s a liar. He presents himself as a self-made man, but he inherited millions. If any of the rest of us had been given so much money, I expect we’d have done a lot more than my opponent.”
When the Donald says, “He’s using lawfare to attack me because he can’t beat me in a fair fight.”
Respond with, “My opponent is weak, he’s a loser, he’s a coward, he’s a liar. He said I can’t beat him in a fair fight, but I already did. I beat him in a fair fight in 2020. But he’s not man enough to admit when he has lost. Then he attacked the Capitol in a violent insurrection that resulted in the death of a police officer. His supporters carried Confederate flags and Nazi flags into the building. It was the most blatant act of disrespect against our military that has ever taken place upon US soil.”
Say stuff like THAT in Trump’s presence.
But if you get lost, just go back to the mantra. “My opponent is weak, he’s a loser, he’s a coward, he’s a liar.”
How is he weak? He does everything Putin wants.
How is he a loser? Everything he touches turns to mud. He’s gone bankrupt countless times. Now he wants the American public to pay the bill for his incompetence. He’s not going to do anything for you. We know that because he’s never done anything for anyone.
How is he a coward? He refuses to testify under oath. Look at how tough he is here where there is nobody to push back. But he’s too much of a coward to take the stand in his own defense.
How is he a liar? Because he takes credit for everything that goes right, and he denies accountability for everything that goes wrong. It’s never his fault. He fires people faster than he can hire them. But maybe the problem isn’t the people who work for him, maybe he’s the problem.
At some point, you turn to the audience and say, “Friends, think of what America has been like since this guy has been on the political scene. He’s driven families apart. He’s broken friendships. He keeps promising to make the country great, but it keeps getting worse. He’s had plenty of chances and he’s done nothing right. Now he wants another chance, but we need to recognize the possibility that maybe all our problems will be solved when he goes away. He’s never won the majority of the votes. He’s not popular. He’s never done anything good for anyone. The inescapable fact about the Donald is that he’s weak, he’s a loser, he’s a coward, and he’s a liar.”
If you say that over and over enough times, the Donald will implode on live television and America deserves to see that. Remember, the debate isn’t reality. The debate is theater. Be a showman. Provoke a show.

You have to get him into circumstances he cannot control or influence (e.g. a court of law). You also need to have accountable journalists that will question absolutely everything he says and remind him of his inaccuracies. The moderator of the debate didn't do that once!
As for Joe, he just had a senior moment that's been blown out of the water. Anyone who thinks he's too "old" for the job, when you clearly were supporting him before the debate, can just fuck off!
