Republicans Try to Make Good People Feel Guilty for Hating Them
Sternly lecturing us about why we should endure their abusive behavior is their only trick--(stop the violence!)
Hello friends,
We've just gotten through a media cycle in which the Republicans have criticized Democrats for what they call “dangerous rhetoric.” Then, a few days ago Donald Trump essentially called for “The Purge.” He wants an unregulated day or hour of extreme violence, because that's just the thing to solve all of America's problems I guess.
But of course, the way the US media works is that if you denounce this kind of behavior, you'll end up being the one who is criticized.
We’re not allowed to repeat the awful things that Republicans say even to condemn them. They accuse of us hate speech for playing clips of their own statements. Yes, this is our reality.
What keeps getting lost in the mix is that the Republicans are truly awful people. That's a fact. They're awful. They are so awful that even Vance has referred to Trump as Hitler.
Lately, the whole shtick of Republican candidates is to sternly lecture good people and make them feel guilty about hating them.
“Now, now, now, I know I've called for violence against your children, I know I've made it so that women are much more likely to face an agonizing death if they decide to start a family, but how dare you act as if I should ever be held accountable for any of my crimes or transgressions, are you some sort of monster?”
Then we're all supposed to go, “Oh, I'm so sorry, how could I have been so cruel?” and bow our heads as we march off to obediently vote for them. We're constantly chastised. The Republicans are the party of perpetual chastisement.
They're also the party of rape apologists.
That too is just a fact. You can't get mad at me for stating a fact. 100% of Republicans are rape apologists. That's the label you have to bear if you stay within a political party that nominates an adjudicated rapist for president.
For the record, I didn’t call him that, the judge presiding over his RAPE CASE did! This isn’t name calling, this is a verifiable fact. It’s not opinion. It is the conclusion of a LEGAL SYSTEM that bends over backwards to let rich, powerful, white men go free.
Do you know how bad you have to be to get convicted when you’re a rich, white, former president? Just think about that for a second.
Imagine if we lived in a country that objected to the idea of a rapist running for president.
God I wish we lived in a country like that.
You'd think we'd drive past all the billboards that are lit up in front of churches and they'd all have messages like, “Don't vote for the rapist.”
I mean, I don't know Christ personally, but if that's not a message that he can support then he can go fuck himself. Seriously! Oh, he objects to the idea of fucking himself? That's the whole damn point here!
Excuse me, but why is it that Democrats aren't bringing this up at every opportunity? Are there strategists out there who are seriously arguing that the fact that a man is a rapist doesn't make him less likely to get elected?
I'm the father of daughters. Anyone who stands at the side of an adjudicated rapist is an absolute piece of shit in my book. In fact, anyone who belongs to a party that would nominate a guy like that is also piece of shit. If your political party nominates a rapist for president and you stick with that party, you're a piece of shit and I don't mind saying so.
That's not the type of thing I'll forget either. 50 years from now if I meet somebody who supported the Republicans during or after the 2024 election, I'll tell them to fuck right off. I don't want people like that in my vicinity. I don't want them around my children. I don't even trust them with my dog.
Raping people is not acceptable. What's controversial about that statement?
But for some reason, Republicans are able to cast this magical dust that makes Democrats reluctant to say things like that.
Watching Tim Walz debate JD Vance was like suffering through an episode of “Ivy League Groomers.” Walz seems like a legitimately nice guy. I absolutely would not hesitate to allow him in the presence of my children.
JD Vance, on the other hand, gives off some really strong pedophile energy. He walks on the screen and my dog starts to growl. But guys like that are slick. Just watch the repeat of the debate, he kept getting Walz with the same old trick over and over again. He'd start out with a compliment or some kind of a compassionate phrase, “I had no idea your son witnessed a shooting, my heart goes out to him.”
Then Walz, America's dad, kind-hearted person that he is, would take that sentiment at face value. He acted like it was a show of legitimate support and not a feint to get him to lower his defenses.
Vance: “We agree on a lot of things.”
Walz: “Thank you JD.”
Vance: “So why is it that you celebrate the idea of doctors murdering babies just after they're born?”
I mean Jesus fucking Christ, he kept saying things like that. This is from the authoritarian/groomer/religious playbook. Butter them up with a little love bombing, then go in for the kill.
You end up so befuddled that you're unable to respond. We need to state loudly and often that it's actually Republican policies that are killing women because they've denied them the right to life-saving healthcare. Thanks to Republicans, we live in a society where pregnant women are forced to bleed out in parking lots. That's the deplorable truth! Republican policies are getting women killed and turning children into orphans, corpses, or forced mothers.
But if you actually say that, the Republicans look at you sternly and say, “Your hate rhetoric is going to incite violence against me.”
As if the idea of some non-existent hypothetical violence is somehow equivalent to the actual misery and death that comes about from the Republican statements and actions that are already in place.
God damn it!
But the problem with decent people is that they're too hard on themselves. “Oh, is what I'm doing mean? I don't want to contribute to the hostility of the world. I guess I'll tone it down.”
Good concept, but that course of action doesn't apply when you're confronting LITERAL RAPE APOLOGISTS!
Again, a political party that nominates an adjudicated rapist is a party of rape apologists! Every. Single. One. Of. Them!
Don't talk to me about Liz Cheney. Praising her for standing up to trump is like praising a burglar for not breaking into your house. There's a standard of conduct that should be the expectation of your political leaders. We shouldn't throw a party when they take a swipe at achieving the minimal requirements of human decency. Plus, trump isn't in jail, so what good did Cheney really do? I need to see some results people!
It's time for decent people to start giving themselves permission to stand up to abuse. We don't have to sulk away because some jerk who went to an ivy league school feels entitled to talk down to us. He's the one who tells lies that cause innocent people to have to deal with bomb threats.
If you don't hold awful people accountable for their awful actions then more people end up getting hurt, and that makes YOU complicit.
Don’t stand with the abusers. Stand with the survivors. Survivors never get a chance to talk because Republicans won’t let them.
It's stunning to me that we have to explain this. Yet I've yet to drive past a church anywhere in the country with a sign out front saying, “Please don't vote for the rapist.” The pope recently engaged in some false equivalency bullshit regarding Harris and Trump, so he can go fuck himself too. If you can't see that the decent, hardworking, qualified woman is a better choice than the convicted felon/rapist, then there's something seriously wrong with you.
If you can’t tell the difference and you claim to be the leader of some institution of morality, then there’s obviously something really wrong with your ideology.
If you’ve been studying a book on sin your whole life, and you can’t recognize a sinner when you see him, then I guess the book sucks.
As far as I'm concerned, it's time for trump, vance, the pope, and every single republican to slink off chastised into a dark hole never to be heard from again. I'm not going to sit here and let them stare at me with a haughty expression of superiority.
I’m not about to surrender the high ground to some piece of shit rape apologist. I’m a father. I have daughters. No way.
If you don't want to be called a rapist, then don't rape anyone. It's pretty simple.
Don’t try to lecture me on who I can and cannot hate.
I absolutely hate rapists. You should too.
You should never even consider voting for one, and it’s an absolute disgrace that one has been allowed onto the ballot.

Thank you for saying what everyone SHOULD be saying! I yelled, “YES!” outload repeatedly while reading your post. I will NEVER understand how anyone could vote for Trump or anyone like him. I’m totally disgusted by the number of supporters he has and what that says about our country. I’m going to share your post on every platform that I can because people need to hear this. I appreciate you!
What is remarkable to me is that many Republicans do not espouse "Christ consciousness." They do not try to elevate their spirituality to a higher awareness. They do not seek enlightenment through actions of love, compassion, and service to others. They hate those that are different from them. They think their spirituality is better than someone else's spirituality. They hate because they follow a false and hateful leader whose lies transcend any form of enlightenment. Enveloped in his toxic vapor trail of hate, they continue to support this false and evil "prophet" who has no empathy, no compassion for others, and no real connection to their actual needs.
