I think you need to wean out the ones that make sense, like this one and delete any that seem to take on maga's non-values. As you say sometimes they try to disguise themselves. As a women, especially (and of my generation - old), I think we were taught (or it was assumed), that we should be polite and not make waves. I, myself, have sat through telemarketing drones and young men proselytizing at my door with a polite smile on my face. But I've evolved (many women do after menopause). I try to be firm, not rude but to the point...can't talk now, not interested, don't call back. I even got a bit of an anger on with a couple of young men who were quizzing me for religious purposes. I told them I didn't have time for them and I wasn't too happy with Christians anyway! And I shut the door! I haven't seen them since. My grandson thought me a bit rude, but I don't care. It's time we refuse to be hostages to our own civility.
Quite often if I see what they are trying to do, I ask them if we can agree to disagree. If they say yes, end of discussion, if they say no, I just say that I am not interested in any further discussion. Thanks for the recording 👍
I have felt the winds of change on substack and BlueSky too. It seems the red just seeps in no matter what protection you put in place. Winnow out the red hats as best you can, block, and delete. I do that on Facebook. I long gave up Xitter. It is a shame platforms meant for good and decency, get bots. I have learned to disengage. When I was younger I would spend more time listening and engaging. Now that I'm closer to 70, not so much. They spam my phone, I tell them to never call this number again and I'll be reporting. They come to my door, I will listen if I get to speak first and they listen to me. That's a quick gotta schedule to keep and off they go.

Substack is changing, like you I feel the same way and I’m thinking of dropping Substack but I appreciate posts like yours
Yes, some contamination is inevitable on the internet. I guess just stay away from comment sections :) thanks for the support!
If I don’t like the comment I tend to mute or block them. You speak truthfully, content is understandable. Thank you
