Broke-Ass Ignorant Rural Voters Trust Conservatives on the Economy
If you're desperate because your way of life is crumbling into dust, maybe you don't know much about economics
Every time you turn on the television there’s some obnoxious guy in a cheap suit and a fake tan talking about how the voters “trust” the Republicans on the economy. Let’s unpack that nonsense.
First of all, Republicans can’t admit that the economy is doing great. The stock market is at an all-time high. Inflation is down. Jobs are up. Unemployment is low. There is not a single marker by which the economy is worse than it was during trump.
Not one!
In fact, under trump, the economy was a hemorrhaging mess. Don’t you remember? It kept crashing again and again. It would go down then claw back up, then it would go down and claw back up. It was like somebody was playing an accordion. If you were sitting there watching your retirement funds evaporate and then be replenished over and over, it wasn’t good for your health.
I suspect they were doing it on purpose. Trump always likes to target industries and make them crash. There’s a thing called short selling. It’s a way to make a lot of money. When you’re the president, you can go on television and say a stock is going to crash, and investors are likely to sell (causing the crash). Sure, you can make money doing this, but you can make money selling drugs or by stealing people’s property. It’s totally unethical.
Anyone who lived through the trump presidency had to think, “Man, this guy SUCKS for the economy! All he does is manipulate it for his own personal gain.” Unfortunately, about 50% of the American public is too ignorant to come away with that interpretation.
But let’s stop and think about this for a moment. We all know where all the Republicans live. We’ve all seen the heat map that paints largely unpopulated areas red to make it seem like the GOP is getting robbed in every election (when in fact the opposite is true).
All you have to do is drive someplace where you see a lot of corn fields. Somehow, all those “struggling farmers” always have enough money to purchase Ginormous Trump/Vance signs. They used to have Trump/Pence signs with the Pence scribbled out. Sometimes they have “NO SOCIALISM” signs, which is comical because American farmers need socialism to survive.
Seriously, I wish they’d teach this in schools. A long time ago our government decided the food supply was too important to expose to the fluctuations of the free market.
Yeah… you don’t want crashing prices to put farmers out of business so there’s no bread next year. Duh!
So, what was the response? Massive farming subsidies. If you want to look for a population in the USA that sits on their butts waiting for their massive government checks, look no further than FARMERS!
You might not like it, but that IS the system. You wouldn’t know it to go on social media which is always flooded with absurd messages like, “farmers feed the nation, must respect, derp derp.” Meanwhile those same platforms brutally attack teachers (who teach the nation), along with dozens of other groups that also make important contributions.
Yes, it is important that we have food. That’s why it’s also important that the entire voting public understands that we get our food from socialism.
Socialism: it’s what’s for dinner!
But on top of all that, we’re also constantly treated to stories about “struggling” farmers. Oh, they’re so overworked. Oh, the economic struggle of being a farmer is so difficult. Oh, now they’re crying because they have to give up the land that’s been in their family for six generations. “My way of life is gone, in this economy, I just can’t afford to survive.”
“Oh, which political party do you trust more on the economy.”
“REPUBLICANS!”
Let’s have some reporting on that. The one group in the United States that gets the most government aid and which makes their economic hardship their personal identity, also trusts the Republicans on the economy.
Basically, the people who have FAILED IN LIFE are the ones who are most committed to the idea that the best way to have a functioning society is to give as much money as possible to a very small group of people. Then, those people will hand it out to us because we can’t be trusted with it.
Yeah.
At some point, it would be nice if our society recognized that American conservatives are the biggest welfare class in the world. Blue states always bail out red states. Blue states pay more, red states suck us dry. It’s because Republican policies suck, their ideas on the economy suck, they indulge in out-of-control spending, and everything they believe is outdated and inefficient.
Without the blue states, the whole nation would collapse. As it is, the red states are doing their very best to drag us down. This needs to be shouted from the hills. Republicans have absolutely NO IDEA what they’re doing on the economy.
Even if conservatives win, liberals hold all the cards. At the end of the day a nation has to produce something of actual value and conservatives don’t… they just don’t. Liberals do all the work, if they go on strike, what’s going to happen? Who is going to pay the bills for the uneducated, freeloading conservatives? The world economy doesn't run on thoughts and prayers and bad manners.
These days the only thing you can count on Republicans for is to sell their ancestral homelands to foreign investors who want to grow corn because of the MASSIVE government subsidies. So think about that the next time you see some idiot on some propaganda news show casually mention how much the voting public trusts Republicans on the economy.
Yeah, ignorant, broke-ass farmers trust Republicans on the economy. That’s why they’re trembling in terror on a failing farm with no hope of a decent future. Maybe it’s time to start getting your economic advice elsewhere. Ya think?

Couldn't agree more...and the topic of building an identity out of grievance is serious and one that has got to get unraveled somehow. Especially with racism woven in. Perfect for totally ignorant whites. Just got gas last night and I looked at the price per gallon, way down now, logically due to market conditions, and wondered where were all the assholes slagging Biden about high fuel costs now, following that same "logic" saying "thanks Joe Biden". Nowhere. If they think a president can affect global energy markets with the stroke of a pen, or with satanic Democrat energy, whatever.
Great article! I live amongst the fields that provide food for our country. These fields are maintained by migrant farm workers. These men and women work their asses off. What blows my mind is the asshole farmers have their fucking Trump signs displayed! Support the man that wants to take all your farm workers and destroy them?! Good luck with that! Can’t wait until it will cost $10 to buy a head of lettuce because it is in short supply!
