Never thought I'd see the day where you couldn't tell the Dems from the Rethugs. I guess I should call them DINOs until I come up with a more accurate label. God, how depressing, embarrassing, mortifying, and maddeningly infuriating!!

They're both conservative and that's highly upsetting.

It is not just apathetic, corrupt Dems in Congress that are the problem. MSM normalizes their inaction and downplays the insanity and violence of the Right.

This is no solace, but after 40 years of fighting for social justice... unrelentingly... I feel way less lonely. Unlike inculcated people (followers of religion, "cultures," and ... um "social norms," which are gag orders) I never did SIMMER DOWN, "know my place", defer to the prevailing authority (male/misogynist bully). When alleged "smart, well-read" people quipped about higher-selves, higher nature, visualizing whirled peas, and "good" in everyone, I --a person born to a sociopath, reminded them of history, facts, current events, and the many forms of fascism. Needless to say, I have ZERO SMALL TALK GAME. I never did cultivate a cocktail party laugh. Maybe because I do not drink cocktails. Or, maybe alcohol is the ingredient for small talk. I do not know. I do not care.

Now, EVERY Pro-democracy American is ME. WE ARE ONE.

No small talk skills here.

The DEMS / DNC, in their IMPERIOUS CASTE SYSTEM NEGLIGENCE of US: We the People, have created the gap into which the PRO-DEMOCRACY PARTY floods and swells. DAILY.

FULL FUKING STOP.

I agree so much and can't think of a thing to add. You nailed it. We are in such danger. Hope this wakes Dems up in Congress. They not hanging together is scary and are complicit in GOP side.

The people need to primary these traitors and then ensure the GQP candidate is one even the MSM can’t defend and promote

I’ve been a Democrat most of my voting life. But, when they refused to fight trump this last election I felt betrayed by them. How did he manage 49.8% of the vote when he’s so obviously a psychopath, proven liar and rapist, a racist and bigot. And America voted for him. That tells me that America is in deep trouble and the people who voted for him will get what they deserve. The problem is the rest of us will get what we don’t deserve as well. And the Democrats definitely need to grow a spine!

I'm saying maybe, just maybe, it would be great if the new democrat guard forms a party truly on the left rather than staying in the centrist right democratic party (although they are arguably right wing already) ... but hey, apparently AOC decided to stay within the establishment ... welcome to the new Bernie Sanders, as useless as the previous one 😔

Hi Walter,

"But it's time they pulled their collective heads out of their collective asses and recognized the Constitution is on fire."

Well-said and true.

This country is in serious turmoil, and, yes, the Democratic party has distanced itself from its duty. We voted them in, and we can vote them out.

Now about the Republicans. It seems one must be a sexual predator to be considered for public office. This makes me sick.

We absolutely have to primary the establishment Democrats. The Republicans aren't even our biggest worry at this point.

You make some excellent points Walter. Tactically I am really unsure what the best approach is strategically - my heart is with the left, my head argues for a centrist approach as the extremes tend to prop each other up.

It would be interesting to know the basis on which the Dems voted not to impeach. Presumably if the card is played to often or too soon it becomes less effective? Or they felt there was not enough evidence that would stand up at that point?

The way I look at it, the Overton window has shifted so far to the right that there is no center any more. In fact, the whole linear model “left, center, right” of politics is an oversimplification that yields more bad ideas than good ones.

In other parts of the world, “Conservative” politicians defend universal health care and universal education. What we have in the US is an aberration. Going to the left is the only thing that makes sense.

I would be happy if the Dems just went through symbolic resistance. They’re way too willing to be complicit and they need to be voted out in the primaries. We need new blood in there.

I want the list of the 128 democrats (traitors) that voted against this last attempt of impeachment. That list needs to be etched in stone! Attention to action is needed. Full page adds, whatever it takes to get this list out there. It needs to be documented, stored, and easily accessed. I urge those to focus on dismissing all these individuals from office by voting in a replacement candidate at all costs. Money is tight, so focus on the persons who are making a difference. Use public shaming ( I hate shaming, but we are deep in a crisis and it works). I can't emphasize enough that you donate to the individuals who are working on making these changes, sticking their necks out, NOT the non profits (sorry, but this is only temporary). Too much waste in most organizations. Make financial decisions wisely with what limited funds we still have. Just today, I received a request to donate to the democratic main organization. HELL NO, they are not doing their jobs. I honestly believe if we hyper focus on changing of the guard, the people, and being very selective in what organizations we support. We will be better off and our money well spent. That's my two cents, RESIST. Hugs, D~

While I agree that I the democrats need to step up, I disagree with how you framed the impeachment vote. The democrats voted to table the motion, that means they can bring it back for a vote when they can actually do something about the felon in chief.

Nope. They need to keep impeaching him over and over and over and over. There will always be more things to impeach him for.
