Just unbelievable that such things really happened but I know they did

It was a cold northern state, and that same teacher wouldn't let us warm up in the hallway if we arrived a little early to school. Most of the time, my dad dropped me off on his way to work as we lived in a rural area. Sometimes I rode the school bus. Anyway, I told my parents that this same teacher wouldn't let kids come in to warm up on bitter, cold days. The next day, this particular teacher let many students into a hallway and the principal walked down the hall asking, "Where's the little girl who thought she could come in to warm up?" I didn't say a word. But I knew that he knew it was me.

I believe teachers/schools can be sued now for doing that kind of stuff. Thanks for the entertaining story. Some kids are hard to manage and it's hard for the teacher. I used to teach school and this kind of stuff takes some pre-planning because you know it's going to happen at some point. Threatening to call their parents to come and get their child often works well.

It used to work. These days if you call up a MAGA parent, he's likely to threaten your life. Respect has left the USA.

When I was in the first grade in the 1960s, our family moved halfway across the nation. My dad was at the school to see me for some reason. (Parents had much more freedom to come and go in those days) He peeked in the window of the room next door to my classroom and saw a little girl with duct tape across her mouth. My dad marched to the principal's office and asked him, "Is child abuse legal in this state, or what in the heck is going on?!"
