It is totally unbelievable that the United States, the beacon of freedom for 200+ years is no longer a beacon. It is simply a beacon of corruption, just like so many other large countries in the world. It will take all of our voices to get free and fair elections back. We can and must do this, sooner is better!
Yup, we are not a beacon of freedom nor have we ever been. It's sad to watch, but at least we now know the work that needs to be done. Thanks for the comment Gene!
Thank you ever so much to you Walter for posting and to all of your subscribers! I will be reaching out to my neighbors and alumni connections etc and everyone I worked with on the Harris campaign to shine a light on this important issue. Attached is the latest link to update everyone on the lawsuit filed in Raleigh Federal Court last evening to stop Judge Jefferson Griffin from tossing out 60,000 votes. The Recount this week reaffirmed initial election results that showed incumbent, Justice Allison Riggs leading by 734 votes. The recount included 5.5 million ballots cast. The key issue I hope everyone is focused in on AND which is echoed by Marc Elias of Democracy Watch is that “if it can happen here in NC it can happen elsewhere too”- please support us if you can by going to Act Blue/ North Carolina Democratic Party. https://www.wral.com/amp/21756693/
I think an important takeaway is that it has already happened. Republicans often succeed in tossing out votes and we never hear about it. Thanks Pam. I shared this story on Blue Sky to (another 10k followers potentially), so hopefully people will see it. I'll add in your link!
"At various times in our history large swaths of people have been excluded from participating in the decision making process."
That's definitely true. People forget that American cities were once controlled by almost octopus-armed political "machines" which decided who got to serve in office and who got disenfranchised. They were common from the 19th century up until WW2. And if you think what's going on now is bad: think about lackeys fixing the vote by voting more than once, or people being bribed to change their vote with just a glass of beer.
Trump has noting on Boss Tweed, Big Bill Thompson or Tom Pendergast.
