Hey Walter! Did this happen to you before? I had meant to join you with your Friday Zoom call which had been so helpful and informational the one time I joined before, but now I'm dismayed to learn about this distressing experience you've had! Since I'll be offering my paid subscribers a once-a-month Zoom meeting, I'm concerned about how to protect myself from something like this. As it is, I keep getting trolls thinking that I'm a desperate widow wanting a relationship and coming onto me (as ludicrous as that is). I'm still intent on growing my subscribers so that I can supplement my Social Security, but I wonder if Substack can do anything to protect us from these predators who are destructive, hurtful and evil. Already, in addition to deleting and reporting the trolls, I reported and managed to get a potential scammer off the platform by reporting her (if indeed is was a "her.") How unfortunate that we have to police ourselves like this. I so appreciate your posts and information and political stance! Thanks.
Thanks Patricia, this happened a few weeks ago. I've implemented some security features and I haven't had problems since. I use the waiting room on Zoom and have people fill in a form to join. Then i only send out the meeting link to people who sign up on the form. I haven't had problems since ;)
I am so sorry!!!
I learned a lesson I guess the universe wanted me to know.
Slam dunk!
Thank you!
