Fortunately for me, my husband and I both suffer from dimensional catch and release syndrome.
He's often completely absorbed in his world and I in mine. We recognize this condition in one another and try to gently draw each other back to the current moment in this reality.
Awesome … would love to hear more about living in Lima… I find it fascinating .. maybe because it kindles thoughts in my own head of moving to Mexico !
I have a book out about it called "Reckless Traveler." But I'll also be exploring it more here on my newsletter. I've been reflecting a lot on those days lately.
I enjoy reading your story about Peru and the ocean of time. With my family we spent a full month equally divided between Cuba and Peru in 1988. The ocean of time I know only from people's story telling. I have lived a busy life, 80 full years completed, never got bored and still busy.
On that Summer holiday we were royally served, to say the least.
In Cuba I was a guest of honour of the Cuban Intelligence Service, in Lima we stayed in the residency of the Hungarian ambassador, my friend.
He was at home for the summer recess and reporting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His car with the chauffeur, his cook and his mother in law were all at our service.
I felt myself like Somerset Maugham on one of his Asiatic tours. My wife and I were 44, my daughter 20, my son 17. All of this has to be compared to my younger years, when visiting our kins in Romania was next to impossible.
When I start my section on Bucket List Destinations, I will sure write and write, and write, as my memories are still fresh with fairy tales and emotions. From Varadero to Machu Picchu - one month as it would be a year.

I have to be honest …I was envious until the bed bugs and a can of raid and then I said “aw hell no!” You are braver than I could ever be!!
Well, it doesn’t have to be like that :)

That's nice! It's wonderful to have people who understand you!

That sounds like a lovely memory! Yes, a month spent in the Sacred Valley is a wonderful way to spend your life!

Thank you! I wrote that one just after Beyond Birkie Fever. They kind of go together. Between those two books I cover my life from about 18 to 35. :)
You help writers get traction? That might be interesting to me if I knew a bit more about it.
I am a Boost nominator on Medium. That’s a great way to get visibility if they accept the nomination. What kind of stories do you write?
