Loved the story and snapshot of family stress. Especially loved her "bigger smile" re. the gpa comparison, lol. Great job, and good way to start my day!
Not the same, but a bit similar. Retired, moved to Hawaii, offered to teach at local community college. The paperwork was horrendous - asked for references from previous employers - who knows if these people are still alive. I never completed the application.
My husband sees a doctor who has an assistant from Ukraine. He has been in the US for 12 years. He was a doctor in Ukraine. He has completed everything except th presidency required to get a US license to practice medicine. He has been trying for years but he says no school will sponsor him. This is beyond stupid since we are short doctors as it is. He is working in a pulmonologist office and lord knows there are more than enough people with respiratory disease. Makes no sense to me as an RN in Florida.
Thank you! Yeah, they make things difficult because of the anti-immigrant attitude in this country. She's done very well, this story is from a few years ago. She has her Master's Degree now.
I enjoyed your piece. I was stressed 😫 out just reading your story 🤣🤣. Sounds like you have a successful marriage and a very good wife to help you along. I wish you both a successful year. 😊

Thank you Tani! This experience also made me realize I could help my kids get educated abroad (for no money) and then have the degree validated here.
Great idea, good for the kids on so many counts!
Dang, that was stressful! When you missed the delivery and had to wait until the afternoon, I bet that was a lot of anxiety.
Also, I see you are still processing that your wife is at least a tad smarter than you.
Air hugs! lol ;)
Thanks William! Yeah, that whole thing was rough! My wife provides the stability that allows me to keep writing, I'm grateful for that :)

Why does everything have to be so complicated 😡😡. And stressful
It's deliberate. This is how institutional racism works.
I’m so glad your wife got her qualification; the suspense was killing me!
But more importantly, why would they make things so difficult when there’s a teacher shortage?
I hope she gets a position that that will warrant this stressful process.

Thank you Donna! That's so nice!
