Hey, Substack just showed me your page, and I googled you and I really appreciate the political writing on Medium - are those articles on your Substack too? Or do I need a Medium account to read them in full (I suspect). Anyway, I appreciate your thoughts and considered worldview. Hello from a millennial in New Zealand :)

Delightful to hear from you! It looks like you’ve written many great pieces. America has moderate and radical conservatives, but no liberals, was a piece I resonated with (true for the world, I think). Even in NZ, our “left” is pretty centrist, and depressingly becoming more and more so. Only our Green Party are Left (we have a different political system to yours, where third parties have more influence!) Sadly, the alt and radical right is on the rise here too, as people become increasingly disenfranchised (myself included, and I speak for much of my generation, especially the educated among us?) and increasingly frustrated as it becomes harder to meet our basic needs, (and I am aware I live in a “wealthy” country relative to the rest of the world). Anyway I have a Political Science degree, (and Anthropology undergrad) but don’t write about politics yet, I become so intellectually cynical… so I love to write lovely musings about mystical things and adore poetry. But your writing is important, and all those medium pieces look brilliant! Thanks for the reply :) (Also I see you lived in Peru for a decade, how brilliant, I love Latin America).
Thank you Laura! I spent some time in Australia, but I was never in NZ for anything more than a layover. It looks like a wonderful place! Latin America is a wonderful choice because it's inexpensive and the people are wonderful. If you do decide to write for Medium keep me in mind. I'm a boost nominator there so I can get eyes on stories and I'm always interested in an educated perspective like yours!
