Actually I find there's a shortage on quality articles under that subject. A lot of people have good stories, but they need some refinement to make a good impact. I've been reviewing the tag a couple times a week for the last year and there are only two or three authors who write consistently good content.
Hi Walter, that's interesting. I knew about "expert status" and that published authors have an unfair advantage, but I didn't realize that writers have to include their PhD or Masters in their profile.
Do you think this is also important for me as a marketer? I have an MBA. That's not something I would put on a business card in Germany. We just don't do it that way.
I know some other authors who have a doctorate and don't want to show it. Do you have any advice?
I don't have any advice for you, but I know someone who used to be on Medium's newsletter and who I helped in 2022...
I think mentioning your education in bios is particularly important on Medium. They are very much interested in promoting high-quality/educated opinions. I only used the tactic of searching for Phds for the first month or two as I developed a better understanding of what they were looking for. If you were to submit to a publication like Better Marketing, your educational background could be a huge help. I'll have to think about this more and do an article on bios. I think there are some best practices, but ultimately people should do what they're most comfortable with (they can always be changed later). Excellent and helpful comment!
You're a perfect candidate! I see that you sent me an email, I probably won't get to it until tomorrow because I'm preparing for my presentation tonight, but I wanted to confirm that I'd received it!
I don't think you'll have much trouble fighting those articles. Many people write nothing but...

I can send him an email and tell him about your offer.

Would be awesome to talk about this in our interview, Walter!
Yes, that sounds great!
I would love to find out more. As someone who is now what I call my 'third act' I am unclear what best practices would be.
I went to university a long time ago. Have had multiple careers and now would like to help people using my knowledge and lived experiences.
Thanks 😊

Awesome, Walter
Good luck for your presentation!
I understand. Racism is a powder-keg topic and it's hard for some people to truly write about it objectively.
Thankyou, that's very nice!
Do you have a link to share? I'll be happy to let you know what I think!
