We see almost no role models celebrated for all the good people who do not make the mess.

No drama?

No bad behavior?

Playing by the rules?

Boring!

How about celebrating a man who:

- Embraces the Golden Rule

- Has never fired a gun

- Rejects religion, the supernatural, and magical thinking

- Celebrates science, logical thinking, reason, facts, evidence and integrity

- Respects all others, is not judgmental and places kindness above self interest

- Rejects drama and is not self serving

I am sure you get the theme. There are millions of us out there and go 100% disregarded and marginalized.

I agree, Walter! Our society has warped values where we place honor where there's dishonor and truth with lies. Sadly, we are the ones who will continue to speak truth to power and hope to hopeless if we want to improve our lives. Thanks, always for the truth.

This is one of my favorite posts. I often wonder when things like infidelity, abandonment, stealing, murder, and general lawlessness became acceptable or even cool. Why do mass murderers have fan clubs/groupies when decent human beings are mocked as boring and uncool? Thanks for highlighting all the ways “boring” can be heroic.

Excellent points. Real men face their responsibilities; stick around; do the work. (Doesn't always mean marriage, but does mean supporting) Being Bonnie and Clyde, an outlaw, seems fun for a while. But that's it; a while. It's sort lived and there are consequences.
