Good advice. Thank you Walter. Give your voice a rest if possible. Is this hoarseness from so much reading, or skiing, or both? ♥️

Also, engagement matters. Even when I can't write, I can still engage - read, comment, think, share. There is production, and there is engagement. That can't be underestimated.

I have also thought of the flood the zone approach but the problem sometimes is that a dam gets in the way of the flood - that is, I get stuck, and that stops the flow. But I am just going to keep showing up, putting in all the reps that I can, and try to build as much as I can.

I can only dream of such numbers on Medium. But I will keep dreaming!

My first few months were slow too. Heck, my first 50 years of writing were slow. Just keep grinding!

Walter, I'm so grateful you keep us up-to-date on Medium. I'm only posting 2-4 articles a month there now, but I've seen a little bump up on my stories. I appreciate your advice.

Hi Walter,

Thanks for the update - and for the transparency of your results. Great to see that things are picking up for you again! I've noticed a real upswing lately on Medium for total numbers of views and reads.

I think that you are right that regular writing improves your overall exposure. I did not post in Oct/Nov of last year and the first month back after that downtime (December), things were VERY slow for the articles that I did post. Since January, things really picked up. These past 3 months (Jan-Mar) I am back up to my best earnings - March is shaping up to be my best month ever on the platform.

Since January, I've had 4 articles boosted and 2 of them are now up over $600. I've even had a non-boosted article make over $250 (11.8K/5.9K views/reads). It's pretty crazy to see this right beside another article (which I thought was better) earning a whopping $0.34.

So ya, keep posting regularly - I don't think Medium is dead yet.

JL

December, January and February were slow for everyone I think, but yes, not posting requires getting the attention of the algorithm again. Excellent job on the big number Boosts! That's encouraging to know. The last few that I've had Boosted hadn't earned that well so I'm pleased to hear it's going good for you. It's also good to see non-Boosted articles earn well. Thanks for the data!
