My dear old dad always said that its impossible to get seriously rich without either inheriting a start up stake or exploitation (or both). This was in the 80s. You could maybe win the lottery or come up with a viral product, but otherwise hard work & luck would get you enough but not fabulous wealth.

I think it's even harder today. More and more of the wealth has already been transferred to the top 1%, and once they have it, they don't relinquish it.

Sadly this is accurate about the love of money, the way to control and easily dupe people by the promise of it. It’s a myth. Thy myth of what is normal.

It’s ironic that millions of Americans often point to It’s A Wonderful Life (I call it a Wonderful LIE) as their favorite Christmas movie. Ironic because we as a society applaud mean Ole Mister Potter rather than the main Jimmy Stewart character. We are a Gordon Gecko society at the end of the day.

Yup! Now they're talking about extending the retirement age for people who are now in their 20s. How evil is that? We've got an older generation who is so desperate not to tax the rich that they're willing to sacrifice the future happiness of their own children and grandchildren. It makes me sick to be honest.

It’s true. It’s something I personally cannot comprehend as I would never think that way. Call me a Marxist, a socialist or whatever. But people deserve a chance, the selfish greed of it all is disgusting.

Yeah, it seems like every day an NFL player signs a contract for 100 million dollars, and not one person asks them if they're going to end child hunger in the state. Then taxpayers are squeezed to pay for the stadium where the athlete performs. Poor people are always expected to make sacrifices for the rich. Mothers are expected to donate their children to the military to protect the country, but a billionaire will NEVER raise a finger to help. Never.

So true. And in Donald Trump’s racist xenophobic filled America, people are applauded for their lack of empathy, cheating on their taxes and in the case of SVB Bank, loosening regulations that keeps “normal” people’s money safe. Greed and cruelty is celebrated. It’s just a stone’s throw away from the dark ages and for a lot of people it’s easier not to see it or acknowledge it at all.
