Men also need to learn one thing. Not all women are that nice. Some of us pack quite a punch, don’t fight like a girl and can handle a gun or knife with great skill.

We need classes on self defense skills. And it should not be illegal to do so.

You really hit the nail on the head with this. I remember guys doing that even when they were out with other women. It was so disgusting and I really felt sorry for the waitress. I never hesitated to do what you just did, tell them how wrong and disrespectful to the waitress it was. There jobs are so difficult and the pay is bad and they have to depend on tips to survive so they end up enduring such revolting persons to try and get a decent tip.

When people can’t behave themselves it becomes so awkward. But we have to correct those people or we become enablers. Thanks Teri!

In the early '70s, out of desperation, I took a "barmaid" job at a tavern in a farm town (why was I in a farm town is a different icky story). Everything Walter says happened to me. I barely ever think about that debasing time that lasted only a few months. I found a better job and soon had enough money to leave that town, never to return. What women endure to buy their freedom ... c'mon, guys, look in the mirror - why would a woman "be into you"? She needs those tips you had better leave her. Good tips, please. This is not to be her life's work.

As someone who spent from the age of 16 until the age of 42 as a server I can get behind every word of this! One of my own pet peeves was this. " Oh come on now, give as that big beautiful smile! You're so much prettier when you smile!" Ugh...If they only knew what I was thinking while they were saying this! A servers job can be hard enough because you're always expected to be 'on'. That can be just as tiring as the physical work you're already required to do. O/T I will say this though. In my own experience women can be just as bad as the men, in a different catty way. Many times I've watched the man lay down a decent tip and the woman stand up behind him only to take back all or part of the tip and put it in her purse.
