There Is No Way to Survive a Dictatorship Other Than To Resist, Resist, Resist
If we give up the fight, we give up our lives so take heart and celebrate your strength
There is no power in compliance.
All we can do is resist.
You might think it best to bow your head in deference. But supplication won't save you. We have to fight if we are to persist.
You can't hide forever. You can't turn your head and look away. Sooner or later, the tormentor will burn through his targets and yours will be the next life he takes.
You may think that you can hide behind a wall of silence, that you can keep your objections to yourself. But that won't save you from false accusations, though they can't guess what you're thinking, you can guarantee that you'll be called out.
You may think that you may find protection in obedience, in your willingness to fulfill a command. He's looking for action, he thinks he's a man of consequence, but his ideas don’t stand a chance.
When you try to put his orders to action, it will become appallingly clear. He operates on entitlement and arrogance. He doesn't think, he doesn't reason, he doesn't prepare.
The worst thing you can do is follow his directives, because they'll never produce the results that he wants. Now you've put yourself between his ego and his objectives. There's no surer way of getting cut out.
You might think you can employ adaptations, you make subtle improvements to his demand. But now he'll accuse you of insubordination, and if you fail you'll be twice damned.
If you're feeling anxiety, that's to be expected. There is absolutely no reprieve. The tormentor loves to make you feel that way. This agony won't stop until he leaves.
But the anxiety is not from your resistance. The source of the anxiety is him. Your resistance is the only hope you have. Your voice provides the only way to win.
You must rally your allies around you, so when the bully comes he finds an army making a stand. He's an empty shell, he'll slither away. Rather than fight, he'll put his head in the sand.
Bullies are cowards. Bullies are empty suits. They blow away like a leaf on the wind. Decent people have to stand up and face them. That's the way it always has been.
They're an illusion, they're a mirage, they're a scary lie that compels us to retreat. But know that they're nothing. They've got no power other than fear. They are desperate because they’re so incomplete.
We have to stand strong. We have to demand the rights that should have been ours all along. We have to fight for ourselves and our children.
Bowing your head only exposes your neck, and vulnerability incites bullies to attack.
Don't die on your knees. Stand and fight on your feet! Rise up and speak!
Know your rights and accept nothing less.
This is the only path. We must take this chance.
They have sown the wind with their lies, but the whirlwind won’t compromise.
When the dust settles it will be us, the decent ones, standing proud in victory with our arms locked together in solidarity.
We, the righteous, shall inherit the Earth.
And they, our tormentors, will be forgotten.
