Thank you, Walter! This was so articulate and meets to moment. It’s sad our moment has to be met in such a fashion. We need to meet the force with peace. The hippies were right. So were MLK, Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, et alia. Play peaceful protest songs. A good one to blast loudly is Neil Diamond’s “There Coming to America.” It was based on his family’s immigration from Ukraine when it was still under USSR. I also love Buffalo Springfield’s “For What It’s Worth.” And my all time favorite because it get under the wannabe’s skin, CCR “Fortunate Son”. John Fogerty point blank told Trump he wrote this about people like him who dodged service in Viet Nam. He served 2 tours.

I have now adorned my American Flag with a black ribbon as part of my peaceful protest. I previously removed it due to the reprehensible connection with maga. I decided to take it back. Walk in peace!

OK, why didn't we, meaning We, the Sane People, see authoritarianism coming? Because we never in a million years believed anyone was stupid enough to go down that road. Dictatorships always die spectacularly. We think that is all the proof required NOT to go that route. BUT - as we all recognize, there is a hard-core 35% of the voting population who would benefit from a frontal lobotomy. They have no reasoning skills. They live in the moment, like guppies, and all they know is they ain't got squat and someone's gotta pay for that. But there is another side of that coin - the obscenely wealthy Republicans who got that way bilking the goobers. So there we are, blissfully trying to govern for the benefit of the People, the greater good, and have been increasingly thwarted in that endeavor for decades buy nefarious actors too numerous to mention. Hence, what we have now: sad saps who voted for a raving nutbar because they forgot how explosively incompetent he was last time, how he lost to an old white man who has about 50 years experience in government and campaigning, and then there was J6. That should have been the deal breaker for any America-loving American. But - that brings me back to that dreadful 35%. And guppies. This disquisition has gone on long enough even though I have a lot more on my mind about this. Know when to stop.

I’ve been working on this question. It’s not an easy answer though.

Agreed. It is a huge question. Part of the answer is: There are NOT two types of people even though it's always "us" against "them." That's the bugger.

THE FINAL SOLUTION

- [ ] Step one for Hitler was to discredit and control the media.

- [ ] Step two was to silence scientists and government employees.• Hate crimes against minorities grew to the highest in their country’s history. Clashes between parties became so extensive that Hitler ended civil liberties

- [ ] (Step three), giving “law and order” as the cause. Those who opposed Hitler were ridiculed and threatened.

- [ ] In Step Four wealthy supporters purchased media outlets, employing only those faithful to the ruling party.

- [ ] In his final step (Step Five) Hitler declared that the only way the country could be unified was to restore "traditional" values. Minorities including gays, the disabled, Jews, Roma, and people of color were considered “inferior” and sent to death camps for slaughter.

No one listened when the ambassador sounded the alarm. This is written by an American Ambassador in Hitler's Berlin 1933-37.

In America, under the direction of a deranged occupant of the people's house, we are between Step 3-5...If anyone feels confused by how so many people could go along with "Hitler's Final Solution", this is exactly how it happened.

There are a lot of false narrative out there. The truth is the looters are on the right.
