Thank you for this particular message, Walter. I had planned to be at my nearby NO KINGS protest, but after all the stuff going on in LA, my husband did something he never does: he asked me not to go. At 97, he realizes he needs me uninjured, unjailed, and undead. So I am sitting here, posting and listening, commenting, liking, and restacking. I confess I feel both guilty and depressed not to be out there with the other Democracy lovers, but - When your nearly a century-old husband and post-WW2 US Army vet asks you to stay home (and keep him safe - my words, not his), that is your duty and obligation. Now I have more to do from my keyboard.
Well, you keep on writing ✍️ and I will keep on reading. I may not agree with you always, but to be 100 % in agreement with a writer isn't really desirable. You need to cause me to clench my jaw tighter occasionally.
I really didn't want to not subscribe but they raised my rent just for the box I live in to almost half my social security check and I pay utilities renter's insurance and need food and medication and everything else just to exist. So I had to cut corners where possible. I love all the substack writer's and was supporting y'all but times are so tough. I still read all and wherever I can I stack and restack for others to see read and prayerfully subscribe if they can. I'm still trying to be supportive and helpful.
Thank you, and I have posted a message that I have a bunch of gift subs and no one to send them to. Anyone needing some gifts subs, I subscribe to 26 other creators here. Maybe, Walter, some of your lost subscribers could DM me their email addy - I have five for the first five who contact me. 💙
Thanks for this. I don't think people unsubscribed because you did anything you did. I enjoy your writing . some days I don't listen all the time. I have other things I have to do or I feel overwhelmed by things that are happening. You help to calm a lot of what is stressful. I love the stories you write for your kids and listening what you read.

You're doing important work from the desk. Carry on!

I agree with that. I don't expect everyone to agree with me all the time!

Yes! That is a huge help and I totally understand. Thanks for your support!

Thanks! :)
If you haven't done it already, you must explain how you are so productive. :)
Right now I'm motivated by anxiety over the future
