I appreciate your input on 2024 elections results

I too live in a GOP stronghold area and have seen Project 2025 started happening here since 2010 and I was also concerned that Democrats would have been fighting harder to win this election this fall by focusing more attention to the working class voters who wanted to vote blue

But didn’t hear what they wanted to hear or believe that democrats were actually going to do for them this time

Because of what you said was exactly the right way they should have addressed people problems with more fight with their messages and not just money or about how much money they raised from campaign donations

Because even us working class people donated money we can barely

afford to donate anything else

But now we have to raise awareness of what the true issues are about and stop these GOP politicians from doing more harm than good for their constituents

The thoughts of an exhausted Democrat is this. I observed my sister and family watch trump, and believed every word he said as gospel. I would try and point out his lies it was a waste of my time. They are totally committed to his crap. It is scary and sad to watch. I have always wanted to find out as much information as possible about the people running for president. It was an easy decision in 2016, 2020 and 2024. The lesser of the evil is one way to put it. I understand VP Harris. I think it is hard to complete with brain washed people.

I am committed to getting rid of trump in 2028. It stinks living in a gerrymandered state. I hope this makes sense. There are a lot of things to take into consideration in regard to the election results.

Excellent post .. thanks Walter for summing up how so many of us feel! I find myself nearly 100% the same as you.. grew up on a farm and can call myself a working class progressive .. I find myself mad at nearly every politician .. although I do have Amy Klobuchar who mostly listens to the working class . I have actually started a list of Dems and Pubs that I can say are working for us .. there’s not many on the list …

It’s good that you’re making the list though! Maybe they’ll gain some momentum!

Your environment is very close to mine, Walter. Good podcast. I grew up farming, live in a Red state, earned an engineering degree, worked 50 years, retired, and worked my butt off for Harris this time.

I knew and understood Maga concepts 60 years ago, we just didn't call it maga. They are my family, neighbors, and coworkers. I had to get away from some of the exremely toxic ones.

Every idea you presented in the podcast is accurate IMO.

I have lived in Florida since 2015 and have seen the state go from purple to deep ruby red. Dems lose now in double digits and the latino vote is now majority Republican. Only 6 years ago Ron DeSantis barely won a very competitive Gubernatorial race but now he is a Kingmaker.

Dems are no longer appealing to voters here. Here how to fix that. Allow Independent voters to vote in Dem primaries. Allow them to have skin in the game. We will get more moderate candidates but that means they may win. Right now the DNC won’t even send any cash to help as they know the situation is hopeless

Republicans aren’t bullet proof. DeSantis blocked Medicaid expansion and hurricane insurance is a crisis. NRA are constantly trying to supplant our Red Flag laws installed after Parkland. Any smart election campaign could find a dozen issues to motivate center and center left voters. Abortion rights almost got the 60% required to pass a constitutional amendment. This gerrymander is going to haunt DeSantis

Right now all Floridians see the Republicans as the party of progress and prosperity. Let’s face facts. We need a new game plan
