I agree. The so called Democratic leadership is a very large part of the problem. They are screaming for money 20 to 40 times a day.!

brilliant analysis ... if i may add a few thoughts of my own :

firstly, i think chris murphy deserves name recognition in the category of democrats who are ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING to stop this fascistic takeover ... and yes, there are others, only there are NOT ENOUGH other elected democrats who deserve this recognition ...

secondly, i want aoc to be president ... i also wanted her to be the chair of the oversight committee ... however, when gerry connolly was elected to the position of ranking chair member, i could not be mad ... he was a great representative and a good man and i just want to state that for the record ...

perhaps lastly, while i am in agreement with you that the democratic party desperately needs a major overhaul, i think the reason we lost the 2024 election has to do with something that not enough of us are addressing our taking seriously enough : there is a large enough swath of the american people who actually want and are drawn towards fascism ... until we really examine this deeply and have this reckoning about WHO WE ACTUALLY ARE, we are really doomed ...

of course, anything and indeed everything can change ... my most pressing concern is that there is not going to be a free and fair election cycle in 2026 ...

anyway, as always, i highly appreciate and respect your writing and your perspective ... thank you ...

We'll have elections. I'm not concerned about that. You bring up a good point. I think the reason people are drawn to fascism is that the Republicans have been indoctrinating them with it, and the DNC has failed to respond. Hopefully it's not too late. Thanks for the comment!

The current state of our country has been brought upon us by the ultra rich in order to get richer and more powerful.

Politics is just a tool for them to get citizens to bicker and hate each other while they rob us all.

They are nonpartisan.

They rob everyone equally.

When it comes to politicians, the majority are more interested in covering their butts and making sure they're set up for the next election cycle. There are strong voices in the Democratic Party. Quite a few of us have eyes on Jasmine Crockett, AOC, Pete, Chris, and other courageous speakers. Jasmine is amazing in the courtroom. I relished her encounter with deplorable Ms. Hypocrisy--Melania trophy wife.

But here's an elephant in the room that's rarely discussed Walter. Trump stated both before and after the election that "Elon knew how to work the voting machines." The election was rigged, and he confirmed it.

I don't understand why this route wasn't pursued. I've dug around trying to find an answer, and I still can't. Maybe my pursuit is to no avail since this regime is now firmly entrenched. Do you have any feedback on this question?

I appreciate all of your pieces about politics. We are like-minded. Thank you! 🙏

Yeah, I don't understand why they didn't investigate either. I didn't believe the election would stand right up until inauguration.

Well stated, Walter. Greed, all day long by our elected officials. We need better candidates. Voting for rich assholes to govern the working class of Americans has been a failure of epic proportions. Of course, many of them don’t get rich until they are elected. How does that work?

Yup! I was wondering if I'd lose a bunch of subscribers for this post. But I've given up trying to change the hearts of Republicans. We need to put some pressure on the establishment Democrats. That BS that Pelosi pulled with AOC really pissed me off. Thanks for your kind words Walt!

Yes! What a bunch of wimps! It’s no wonder the Dems’ approval rating is so low - they’re not working toward providing anything people want, other than not being MAGA.

Biden and Harris both told us that "nothing will fundamentally change." Both parties continue to be ethically and morally complicit in evil.

I have been saying this since 2000... it has never not been this way since I could vote. There are very few Dems I align with. There needs to be an anti-establishment party and it ain't the Dems.

There were enough hints about a possible fascist takeover.

Why on earth did Americans vote for him so overwhelmingly?

A known felon, racist, almost impeached, chest-thumping autocrat who likes to take credit for even what's not due to him?

There were way too many votes for him, but it wasn't really overwhelming. But yes, I can't understand how anyone would vote for him.
