The Media is trying to give Trump cover and the ability to seem as if he has a valid reason to sue.

Yup, or to provide "plausible justification" for the denials and the violence of January... er, November 6th.

Encouraging and grounded. Thank you. At this point Trump's campaign strategy is not about winning votes. He disdains his own voters anyway. It is about using the judges he assigned to appoint him the presidency. I'm sure there's more to it than that. Maga is stupid but it is also fueled by evil. It might be because I've been a target of violence in my past, it might be because my grandfather was a POW in Germany during WWII, and it might be because I'm an intuitive, but it's been apparent since 2016 what was up. Us intuitives knew the spirit of the Nazis was back. The US never really dealt with the fascism/nazi presence within itself and now it really must take a stand. All of our WWII veterans didn't go through hell just to have the US taken over by the evil thing they fought against. BTW, the billionaires behind the major news outlets are compromised. I wouldn't worry about the polls.

The US created the fascist/nazi movement with Jim Crow and slavery. Yes, it's time for this country to acknowledge that and hold itself accountable.

Fear causes exhaustion and a lot of us probably won't realize how exhausted we are until this election is settled. The Biden administration has more power now than the far right believes it will use as democrats have typically been pretty law abiding, but thanks to the supreme court ruling on presidential authority, Biden has been given what he needs. We're going to be okay but believe me, I research everything and everyone on my ballot. Especially those judges. Spent 2 days filling out my ballot.

Thank you, I needed that optimism this morning!

When we look past the false fear cultivated by the corporate media and focus on the actual facts, there's a lot to be optimistic about.

This seems correct , the so called rallies are call to arms toward his base to be ready to act when asked . Thus the inflammatory words that never end. Where they will try to breach democracy has been already planned by his legal dictatorial supporters and will be funded by some one like musk . I see two spots - state legislatures can overturn their own results and supply alternative electors , or via a Supreme Court judgement . The riot at congress will be well prevented . They have control of a majority of states legislatures numerically and that might be the focus of leverage . But it’s already been planned . These people are experts at taking advantage of those whose remain faithful to honesty in politics as well as the truly dazzled maga crowd .

Get ready

Yes, the real fight will start after the overwhelming number of ballots have been cast for Kamala. That the media is not covering this is truly irresponsible.

Thank you. SHARED. I needed that today.

But I still don't know what to do with the frenzied, frothing zombies of Trump's alternate reality, my mother being one of them. They're like unwell pitbulls with a bone, and most will NEVER let go of their special little cope. They're in love with their abuser and will never betray him. His "enemies" are theirs, forever, including their own country. Malignant narcissist Trump successfully created armies of flying monkeys who are now our problem. And their delusions are now hard-wired. I don't want to live among them or ever hear from them again. Trumpism equals death and MAGA means misery. I just want to live my life. Please, can we "just have nice things."

Keep on writing, Walter, you're one of the voices we need right now.

Thank you! I think we have to recognize that we’re not going to reach all of them, but we are reaching most of them. I’m sorry about your mother. I’ve cut out a lot of people from my life. I just can’t have white supremacists at my table. I really appreciate your support!

For real. My concern is whether Kamala and Joe have a plan, a real plan. They've not come out and said, "hey, don't worry, we've got this." I don't feel comforted other than to tell myself, "hey, maybe that supposed immunity will come in handy." Our track record of holding people accountable (so as not to be in the exact mess we're in) is abysmal. Do you think they'll handle it like the tough guys we're going to need? I need hope on this ...

I believe they do. I expect that Kamala is the one with the plan. She's been in the trenches and she knows what she's up against.

Thanks for the pep talk, Walter. I describe myself as nervously optimistic. I'm nervous because when I look at the election, it seems that Kamala has three big obstacles to overcome - misogyny, racism, and stupidity. In a sane world, I believe she would win easily. But, in a sane world, there would not be a Hitler-praising, rapist, convicted felon, lying liar on the ballot, backed by a misogynistic racist cult of stupid morons. I can't help but be a little nervous.

Walter Rhein's avatar

It's natural to be nervous because the stakes are so high. But people are voting in record numbers, and trump has done nothing to expand his base. He might end up with less votes than he received in 2020.

I don’t think most fathers want to vote for DiaperDon, who promises to spank their daughters. His words convey his desires.

Unfortunately there are too many men in the US who are patriarchal assholes. I hope wives leave anyone who voted for trump and give themselves a chance at happiness.

I hope wives stop minimizing the degrading things Trump does. The ‘he doesn’t really mean what he says’ excuse is self-serving duplicity. If a grown man fantasizes about spanking Vice President Kamala Harris he would paddle you to get his thrills, or your daughter, your wife, or your grandchild.

I had to explain to an otherwise intelligent person the other day that the media wants CLICKS for money. TFG is like a click machine because either people feel their rage triggered about what is in other peoples pants,.or they feel their rage triggered by the jaw dropping horror of the words that come from his anus mouth and his gaggle of dingleberries. So, either way, the media makes more money by platforming this poor excuse for a person. If government goes about it's work efficiently in a calm quiet dignified manner people might just focus on their own lives and not doomscroll all the time. People might also have a chance to consider that a mass extinction is underway and our lifestyles are about to come to a screeching halt, and big oil/Kochsuckers can't have that.

I think there's something even more sinister going on. A lot of the media is funded by foreign governments because they want to divide the country. They publish stories about trump even when it means losing subscribers like the Washington Post. There are a lot of bad influences on our psyche right now. Keep strong and be safe!
